We reaslised by accident but can walk to the Acropolis by effectively walking in the direction you can see it (through some very nice parts of the neighbourhood) rather than taking a car round the hills and the city. There are also some very nice streets and restaurants in that area.
Apartment itself is very nice, well furnished with the bonus of a sauna outside. Francis, the host, was very responsive and helpful.

We came back from a day of sight seeing and really enjoyed curling up on the couch and looking at the Acropolis... read more view of the Parthenon was definitely a highlight. We loved the added touch of water and wine being left for us to enjoy and liked the cottage style feel of the kitchen and the wooden beams. We had no need to go to rooftop bars as we felt this Airbnb had the view we needed and enjoyed watching the sunset in the evening. Everything was close by. We tried out 3-5 different coffee and brunch/breakfast places and it’s easy to find many top rated restaurants within a 2-5 minute walk. Expect window views of the Ancient Agora and seeing the Temple of Hephaestus. It was a 2-min walk to get there! We were able to turn on the heating and warm the place up quickly. Great nights sleep in a comfortable bed. We also loved the simple entry into the building and the penthouse with a code vs faffing with a key. I would recommend this place highly!

My husband used the sauna several times and really appreciated that. The outdoor patio was extensive and allowed us to see all across the city in the mornings.
I was happy to find a good supply of Nespresso and a Nespresso maker in the kitchen. We intended to cook while we were there, but the restaurants were so close, plentiful, charming, and affordable that we went out every night to experience the wonderful Greek culture and music all around us.
Another significant plus was the safety we felt the whole time--whether walking up to the Mars Hill well after midnight, walking from one side of Athens to the other, or riding the metro; no one ever bothered us. We had a magnificent visit to Athens, and this Airbnb made it possible.
